Renovations

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Every pool will need to be renovated at some stage. Whether you have a plastered pool, fibreglass pool or a liner pool they will all need a freshen up at some point.

Not only will a renovation improve the look of your pool it will likely lengthen the life of the pool substrate as well.

MORGAN+STONE offer renovation services for the four main pool types, tiled pools, plastered pools, fibreglass pools and liner pools.

Concrete pool renovations

Concrete pool renovations often require new waterline tiles and new plaster. It is very important that the old plaster be removed and replastered from a solid substrate. Waterline tiles must be approved for use in submerged environments and the correct adhesives and grouts must be used. The plaster system that is used needs to be proven and installed by people with experience. Often the plasters are now diamond polished to give them a smooth and even finish.

Fibreglass pool renovations

Fibreglass pool renovations for both drop in pools and custom fibreglass sprays require the pool to be covered, etched with a form of blasting. The new coating starts with a vinyl ester resin coat with chopstrand fibreglass and finally it wil be coated with a coloured flowcoat. Fibreglass pools cannot be painted as it will not provide a long term solution and will delaminate.

Liner pool renovations

Liner pool renovations require the old liner to be removed nd then repairs need to be completed to the walls and the floor. A new 3D measured liner can then be installed. Critical to a great finish is the clip system used to hold the liner in place as well as an accurate liner measure. MORGAN+STONE use the latest Leica #D technology to obtain accurate 3D imaging.
